Gouda Takeo is so misunderstood because of his size but he’s actually the sweetest boy in any anime I’ve ever seen.
He watches out for that pervert around the elementary school.
He saves Yamato on the train from the perv even before he knows that’s she’s a beautiful girl.
When he believes that Yamato likes his best friend, Sunakawa he tries to help them get together even though he really likes her.
He catches the huge beam from falling and KILLING Yamato.
Saves her friends from dying in a fire even though they talked about him behind his back.
Protects Yamato in every way when they get lost in the mountains.
Misses Yamato’s birthday so he could be there for his best friend while he’s all alone at the hospital when his father was in surgery.
Gets a job so he could have money to treat Yamato.
Even though he’s got terrible grades, he studied like hell to he could try to get on Yamato’s level and follow her to the college OF HER CHOICE.
Doesn’t look at her in a bad way when she’s dressed in a bathing suit.

The animation is beautiful and so is the character development.
